About the Project

The 670 MW Dudhkoshi Storage Hydroelectric Project is a major initiative by the Government of Nepal to harness the power of the Dudhkoshi River, originating from Mount Everest.

Dudhkoshi Jalvidyut Company Limited (DKJVCL) was formally established on 3rd March, 2017 as a subsidiary of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). Since then, the fifth Annual General Meeting has also been successfully concluded on 13th January, 2026. At present, DKJVCL has accomplished the Detail Design of the 670 MW Dudhkoshi Storage Hydroelectric Project (DKSHEP). The project's main dam will be located approximately 1 km southwest of Rabuwa Bazar, situated on the border of the Khotang and Okhaldhunga districts. There will be two powerhouses, consisting of a 600 MW underground facility near Dhitung village in Khotang and a 70 MW Dam Toe powerhouse situated adjacent to the dam in Okhaldhunga, all serviced by a 220-meter Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam (CFRD) that will create a 31.5 km long artificial reservoir with a capacity of 1.58 billion cubic meter extending into the Solukhumbu district

  • ६७० मेगावाट जलविद्युत क्षमता
  • 220m High CFRD Dam
